So, what does one do in a hunting area such as this one? Many people don’t realise that as a hunter, it’s your job to take care of the sustainable regulation and species management of wild animals in your hunting ground. This means maintaining \u2014 and often even increasing \u2014 the biodiversity of the local landscape. Forest management and forest protection are also part of my hunting duties. All in all, it’s an important task and I like to take any chance I get to explain that to my guests \u2014 especially young ones. It’s a great opportunity for them to familiarise themselves with nature and observe the local animals.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>If you have a valid hunting licence for the Salzburg region, you also have the opportunity to experience an actual hunt with me. Depending on the season and time of day, you might see chamois, mouflon, roebuck, stag, black grouse or marmot in this area. With an experienced local hunting guide \u2014 or even myself \u2014 at your side, you’ll learn everything you need to know about your surroundings and receive useful pieces of advice about the animals and the region. Just remember to bring clothing suitable for tracking through the high mountains, good footwear and a head torch, and you’ll be good to go.<\/p>\n
\nAfter an exciting day in the great outdoors, a hearty meal is in order: Perhaps a steak from the local mouflon? Directly from the region, aka our own hunting ground?
